New Revised Standard Version. As far as translations go, the NRSV is a standard scholarly and accurate rendering of the original languages. In fact, the NRSV is the standard translation used in the following basic Bible study courses – Bethel, Crossways, Kerygma, and Disciple. That said, there are other equally powerful translations used in other study Bibles including the Catholic Study Bible (New American Bible). The goal is to have a high quality study Bible that you will use. So, if you already own a high quality study Bible with a different translation such as the NIV, don’t hesitate to use it or feel like you should replace it.
