The Annual Christmas Offering is a special over-and-above gift. The basic idea is the same as the last several years. As we buy gifts for other people, we want our largest, most extravagant gift to go to Jesus by loving our neighbor.
Since the first Christmas Offering in 2013, mission partners and friends raised over $50,000 in addition to Common Ground’s yearly benevolence to the South-Central Synod of WI and other local/regional organizations. The funds have been distributed to help hundreds of local kids and adults experience the love of Jesus. Here are some past recipients:
- Sugar Creek Summer Day Camp
- Summer Lunch Program
- Urban Immersion
- Wilderness Camp and National Youth Gatherings
- Refugee Resettlement in Dane County
- Resurfaced Parking Lot for guests, members and parents dropping off kids at our former Primary School
- Reach Out Lodi, and the former Lodi Food Pantry, (now a part of Reach Out Lodi),
- Local Police Department
The 2021 goal is $3000. 100% of this offering will be divide equally between these two causes:
REACH OUT LODI. “To provide a safe and welcoming community center where people can gather and a community store that supports individuals and families struggling to provide for their basic living needs.”
THE COMMON GROUND CHURCH. Youth Ministry. The goal is to help raise funds for the total costs of youth participating in the ELCA National Youth Gathering next summer.
Gifts received by December 31, 2021 will be received and recorded as a 2021 donation on giving statements.
